The ION Apex CS 15 is one of the stiffest harnesses in the ION collection. The Apex CS 15 can rightfully be called a hardshell. ION has classified the harnesss on a flex index. This Apex CS 15 scores 15 at the ION flex index scale, where 20 is the most stiff. The Apex CS 15 is therefore not the stiffest harness but one with a little bit of flex that can come in handy now and then. With the ION Apex CS 15 you combine the rigidity of a hardshell with a light flex for super comfortable fit and extra long kite surfing sessions!The power from your kite is perfectly distributed over your back by the pre-formed hardshell plate in the back of the Apex CS 15 that is made of a carbon composite. The sides of the Apex CS 15 are made with a bit more flex, giving you more flex in your side. The Apex CS 15 is made with a high profile on the back, this profile allows you to put a large part of your back on the harness and therefore handle more power from your kite for a higher high end wind range! On the inside, the Apex CS 15 has a soft EVA padding and extra stiff parts so that the harness feels comfortable and stays in place.
A C bar 2.0 is supplied with the ION Apex CS 15. With this spreader bar you can go kite surfing with both a fixed hook and a rope. So suitable for the most radical freestyle and wave action! The spreader bar is made of a strong but lightweight material. The closure of the C 2.0 bar works with a lip that you push tight, this allows you to tighten the harness extra tight and the tighter the better! On the back there is a handle pass leash attachment so that you will not be bothered while making the sickest handle passes by your kitesurf leash. The Apex CS 15 safety knife is super handy. You can use this blade in an emergency situation such as the moment when lines have to be cut or an emergency situation why you have to tighten a screw ;). The blade is also a screwdriver!
