The ION Apex Curv 10 is a harness that can be included in the "hardshell" segment. The hardshell plate is made from a new, revolutionary, thermo composite called CURV. No other brand uses this composite in the hardshell harnesss. Curv is not fiberglass or carbon but just a bit different. CURV has slightly more flex than fiberglass or carbon and is therefore perceived as more comfortable by some people. The ION Apex Curv 10 harness is lightweight and super robust. Due to the CURV construction, the flex index of this ION harness is 10 out of 20, where 20 is super stiff and 0 is extremely flexible. The ION Apex Curv has a high cut-out on the back and extra flexible sides.The comfort of the Apex Curv 10 harness has also been taken into consideration. The Apex has a full EVA padding on the inside and a slightly stiffer material on the back to hold the harness securely in place.
The spreader bar on the Apex Curv 10 harness is one of the very best on the market. The ION C-Bar. This is super smooth spreader bar is made of a special composite with a firm soft padding on the back. The metal hook is interchangeable. The new closure ensures that you can pull the C-Bar super easily and tightly. There is a safety knife in the Velcro closure at the front in case you ever get into trouble. The Apex Curv 10 has a leash attachment on the back. If you are kitesurfing with a short leash, we recommend that you attach it to the harness hook itself. All in all, this ION Apex Curv 10 is one of the best hardshell harnesss on the market with its own character. A winner kitesurf harness!
