The Asylum V5 twin tip from Slingshot is the favourite of many kiters in the freestyle discipline. This performance-oriented kiteboard is packed with advanced design features for aggressive riders who want to go big, ride fully powered and keep pushing their limits by trying new things. The Asylum"s flex has been perfected with the addition of the new Hot Sheet 10k Carbon stringer. This is the stiffest carbon stringer resulting in massive pop and maximum rebound properties - ideal for big airs and freestyle. The tip / tail channels and chined rails offer the drive you are seeking for your best performance on the water, as well as the insane tracking in all water conditions.This legendary twin-tip is built with an atomic wood core, made from sustainably sourced wood approved by the Forest Stewardship Council. This core features lengthwise carbon stringers, both top and bottom, which provide strength and stiffness. The speed, predictable pop, great carving performance, and soft landings together make this an extremely good board for freestyle and big airs. This is made possible, among other things, by its smooth and consistent rocker. The dura light base of .2mm base material ensures the optimal balance of durability, weight and strength. The lightweight, flexible and durable carbon bedrock inserts also provide enhanced durability without jeopardizing the flex of the Asylum V5.
Utilizing the latest laser cut technology, all Slingshot boards have the cleanest, most precise construction. The Asylum 5 takes maximum advantage of this and thus this results in a high-quality twintip with smooth takeoffs, smooth landings, lots of grip, better response, load-and-pop and upwind drive. The rails are infused with the strong urethane material to improve durability and dampening. The chined plane rails are designed to completely direct the spray away and down and reduce the contact area between the board and the water surface. The chined rails also help prevent catching an edge on fast, sketchy landings. The Asylum V5 can be ridden with or without fins and is shipped standard with fins and a grab handle.
